Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 April 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Arkkeus ("Arkkeus", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit our website or use our games. We respect your privacy and aim to keep things simple.
1. Who we are (Data Controller)
Arkkeus is an independent game studio based in Italy. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Arkkeus is the data controller for personal data processed through our Services. You can reach us at arkkeus.studio@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
Website: this website is currently a simple presentation site. It does not require an account and does not set marketing cookies. We may use privacy-respecting analytics (for example, aggregate visit counts) to understand how the site is used; if we do, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
Games: depending on the game, we may process:
- account information (username, email) if the game has accounts;
- gameplay telemetry and crash reports, to diagnose bugs and improve the game;
- purchase information processed by the platform or payment provider;
- basic device and technical information (device type, operating system, language, IP address).
Each game's in-product documentation will describe exactly what that game collects.
3. Why we process your data (legal basis)
- Contract: to provide the Services you have requested (for example, running your game account).
- Legitimate interests: to keep the Services secure, fix bugs, and improve our games.
- Consent: where required, for example for non-essential analytics or marketing.
- Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with: (a) service providers who help us run the Services (hosting, analytics, crash reporting, customer support) under appropriate data-protection agreements; (b) distribution platforms (Steam, itch.io, app stores) which operate under their own privacy policies; (c) authorities, where required by law.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the European Economic Area. When we transfer personal data abroad, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law. Account data is kept while your account is active; you can request deletion at any time (see section 7).
7. Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate;
- have it deleted ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to our processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at arkkeus.studio@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali — garanteprivacy.it) or the supervisory authority in your EU country of residence.
8. Children
Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No internet service is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will post a notice on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
